These two films are the first in a series of a much larger body of songs, which hail from the late 2020’s and beyond. Future Country as told by alter ego Johnny Woebegone. These two pieces may seem unconnected, but there are many threads yet to be uncovered. Songs by nature are social animals and live in groups rather than as solitary figures in the aural landscape. The album provided a decent home for a group of songs; a late night radio show an emergency overnight shelter; but with the one stop shopping of the digital age songs have become isolated from their kindred spirits, like people living in cities of millions living alone yet yearning for community. If popular music is to fulfill some its true potential as art then it has to touch more points on the moral compass than a mere three and a half minutes might allow?
