SOCIAL CHANGE MEETING
January 1, 2008
PRESENT: Dorothy of Kansas [Wizard of Oz], Dr. Manette [Tale of Two Cities], Prince Andrei [War and Peace], St. Christopher, Old Dog Tray, Bugs Bunny, Elmer Fudd, GI Joe, Scrooge, Marilyn Munster, the Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come, Wonder Woman, Wendy Darling, Rosie the Riveter
ABSENT: Bill the Cat and Tiger Lily
The meeting was called to order at 6 p.m. at the EAP World Headquarters Little Conference Room by chairwoman Wendy Darling, who introduced special guest Rosie the Riveter.
CHAIRMAN’S REPORT
All other business was put aside, in light of the exciting news that Rosie the Riveter and GI Joe have gotten the FCRLSC invited to President-elect Obama's inauguration! There was plenty of excitement at the news, and the group could think of nothing else but where to stay, which balls to attend, and what to wear (this was the special concern of The Ghost of Christmas Yet To Come, who is buying a new shroud for the occasion).
Scrooge said he had plenty of friends in the Treasury Department and at the Mint, and was sure he could find us a place to stay.
Wonder Woman said she'd put in a call to her pals at the State Department and get us invited to some really good parties.
Marilyn Munster burst into tears, she was so happy. "God bless America," she kept saying. She and Elmer Fudd put themselves in charge of making a list of Must See Attractions in the nation's capital for the group. Dorothy asked that the group go to the Smithsonian to have a look at her red shoes.
Chairman Wendy called the group to order, and asked that we spend some time working on a list of initiatives that she and Wonder Woman will get to Congressional aides when we're there. We're to get suggestions to her by next week.
It was a very happy start to a new year.
NEXT MEETING
The next meeting will be 6 pm, 1 February 2009, in the Little Conference Room. We'll have a lot to report! Meeting was adjourned 6:45.
Respectfully submitted,
Dorothy of Kansas
